Hendaia celebrates Bixintxo every year in January. This year, it will take place on the 13th, 14th, 15th, 21st and 22nd of January. The name Bixintxo comes from the Basque first name of "BIXENTE", which means VINCENT.
Every year in January, Hendaia celebrates the Patron Saint of Vincent. Opening celebration will include a procession of children dressed in costume, honoring the Hendaia native Etienne Pellot (1765-1856).
An omelette cooking contest will take place by the children and the aroma is sure to attract people from afar.
Program of events will allow the young and old to enjoy. Handball games, competitions, food, song, dance, and many other activities will add to the evening.
