Hi! I'm Jon, a 19 years old boy from Legazpi ( Gipuzkoa ), and first of all I want to say that it has been great to find this tribe, with basques from all around the world. I would like to colaborate with this community and share all we have in common, so you'll see me here.
Thanks to all!

Hello everyone, I'm new to this tribe, excited I found this site seeing many Basques reaching out. I'm David, hailing from Brooklyn, New York. 19 years old as well, currently trying to learn Euskara. All my life, teachers, doctors, even police men had asked if I was Basque, looking at my last name, Iborti. Long ago my step father had send message to a guy in bubber website who used to look up surnames, and he requested to look look up my last name but he never answer back. Not really knowing if Iborti is a Basque surname or not, I still love the people, land, language and culture. Anyways I'm glad to be here. Thanks.

      Hello:
You said your last name is IBORTI, it really sounds like basque and in basque we have surnames such as Ibar, Ibarra and so on we have also the suffix TI. Ibor is a river name not in the Basque Country proper but in the very south of Spain a little bit to far from the basque influence, but during the ancient times of the middle age, there were populations of basque people, who knows? Ibar and possibly Ibor has the meaning of valley but Ibar is specially a valley ho is divided i by a river, inastead of harana that has no river in the middle. It is difficult to say more. Just take this by now. Gero arte. (I'll see you later).
